I would like to thank Southampton citizens for their generosity in supporting this year’s Easter Egg Appeal.
A whopping 2790 easter eggs were donated.
1800 went to Southampton social services, 210 to meals on wheels and Erskine Court.
One resident at Erskine Court wrote a very nice thank you letter, said it made her feel young again.
140 to the holiday hunger campaign at St Valentines School, 250 to the City Mission food banks, over 350 to Southampton General Hospital.
This year, the city council were inundated from different organisations who were looking for support.
And the good people of Southampton, were very generous in their donations.
I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Sarah Davies of Balfour Beatty, who helped co-ordinate this appeal.
Southampton residents, you are amazing in your generosity.
Cllr Cathie McEwing
