POLICE have had to disperse "several large groups" who were flouting Covid regulations by gathering in the grounds of Winchester Cathedral.
Officers are carrying out foot patrols in the city centre to make sure that people are complying with the rules relating to social distancing.
Posting on social Winchester Cops said: "The cathedral grounds were stunning and we spoke with many members of the public who had also come to enjoy the weather.
"Unfortunately though we had to disperse several large groups who were in breach of the current Covid regulations.
"Although the restrictions have eased, we would like to remind the public that under the current guidelines you are still only permitted to meet with up to six other persons or with another household in any outdoor space.
"Please help us to help you stay safe."
