These are the 5 areas in Salisbury with more than two Covid cases.

As the prevalence of the virus falls, most parts of Salisbury and south Wiltshire are virtually Covid free.

This means they have between zero and two infections.

However, five areas in and around Salisbury have a slightly higher total of new cases.

These areas are:

  • Salisbury Bishopsdown (9 cases; +5 on previous week; rolling rate of 134.7)
  • Larkhill, Shrewton & Bulford Camp (7 cases; +2 on previous week; rolling rate of 64.8)
  • Tidworth & Ludgershall (5 cases; same as previous week; rolling rate of 27.6)
  • Salisbury East Harnham (5 cases; -6 on previous week; rolling rate of 83.9)
  • Salisbury Town North & Milford (4 cases; +1 on previous week; rolling rate of 65.5)

The figures from Public Health England refer to the week to April 13.

This means that the impact of the latest easing of lockdown restrictions remains to be seen.

The figures are available on a map on the Government coronavirus dashboard which breaks down infections in England into Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAs) - small areas with an average population of 7,200.

For each MSOA, the map shows the number of new cases in the latest weekly period, any changes compared to the week before and the rate of new cases per 100,000.

Data for areas with two or fewer infections is suppressed to protect the privacy of individuals.

In the latest weekly period, 79 infections were recorded in the Wiltshire Council area - 11 fewer than the previous week.

This gives a rate of new cases of 15.8 per 100,000.
