A NAKED and screaming man has been found injured in a Southampton street.

Police found a "completely naked, screaming and shouting man" in Paynes Road this morning.

According to officers, the man they believe to be in his 20s had taken the drug LSD and fallen over.

He was reportedly handed over to paramedics for medical treatment.

A post on the Shirley Police Facebook page said: "Towards the end of the morning we saw the effects that LSD can have.

"A male in his 20s we suspect had taken this substance, we located on Paynes Road, completely naked, screaming and shouting with injuries to his body from a fall or several falls. We remained with him to monitor his medical condition until Paramedics took over and gave him the care needed.

"We wish him well and hope his lesson on illegal drug use are learnt."

Officers had been carrying out patrols in the Shirley ward of the city of the incident.

Police urge anyone affected by crime and anti-social behaviour, to report it by calling 101 or via the Hampshire Constabulary website.
