A MAN caught almost five times the drink drive limit has been banned from the roads.
David James Foote was caught drink driving in a Peugeot 205 on Elm Avenue, Pennington, on January 13.
The 44-year-old was found to have 167 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - 4.7-times the legal limit.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
Foote, of Hillside Road, Pennington, was disqualified from driving for 30 months and handed a community order.
He was also fined £150 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.
