A STABBING in a Hampshire town centre has been deemed worrying and a cause for concern.
An area of Eastleigh was taped off on Monday morning after a man was stabbed in the neck.
The 39-year-old was rushed to hospital following the attack near the Swan Centre car park at around 10.30pm on Sunday.
A 38-year-old woman from Hedge End was later arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault causing grievous bodily harm.
Unity Court and a section of the Swan Centre car park was taped off with police patrol remaining in the area throughout Monday.
Commenting on the attack, Paul Holmes the Tory MP for Eastleigh, said: “Any violent incident in our town centre is cause for concern.
“Fortunately, the attack doesn’t appear to life-threatening although it is still worrying.
“I know the police have responded swiftly and are continuing to investigate. Let’s hope those responsible are brought to justice as quickly as possible.”
