Well done to the Daily Echo reader who wrote into the paper regarding Southampton? Airport.

He is correct - it should be named Eastleigh Airport.

As a child, I was born in 1943, I lived in a prefab.

There wee a hundred homes which were called the Hundred which was in the Eastleigh borough, built across the road, opposite the airport.

I am so glad the airport is being extended. I always have happy memories of flying from there.

I flew to Jersey for my honeymoon in 1963 and a lot of holidays to Spain with my grandchildren.

The employment it will bring will be wonderful for people who have lost jobs with the hut down, as we have witnessed in our family.

My mother worked at the airport in the 1950s, she was a single parent so it was a God send.
