EFFORTS to identify the body of a man found in a burning car near Southampton are still underway.
Residents living close to Shop Lane in Bursledon reported hearing loud bangs and huge flames leaping into the air.
Emergency services raced to the scene to find a car ablaze - and inside a man’s body.
The road was taped off in both directions following the incident on the night of March 25.
However, according to police, there are no updates concerning their investigation.
Furthermore, the formal identification process is ongoing.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and the Hampshire coroner has been informed.
