EMERGENCY services were called to help a woman suffering an allergic reaction after eating a mushroom.
Paramedics were called to Lepe beach last night to treat the woman at 7.18pm.
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "The patient was a 22-year-old woman who had apparently eaten a mushroom and had some sort of allergic reaction.
"She was treated at the scene by the fire service co-responder and ambulance crew that we sent."
The spokesperson urged members of the public not to eat wild mushrooms or plants unless they are 100% certain what they are and whether they are edible.
A co-response unit from Hythe Fire Station was also on the scene during the incident last night.
The woman was given first aid in Lepe Country Park car park.
