Emergency services rushed to an abandoned car in the sea last night.
Hillhead Coast Guard Team were called to Beach Lane in Netley just after 11pm following reports of a car in Southampton Water.
The vehicle was checked and the surrounding areas were searched but no one was found.
The investigation was handed over to Hampshire Police, who contacted the owner of the vehicle.
A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "We received a report at 11.13pm last night (26 April) of a vehicle in the water off Beach Lane, Netley.
"No one was harmed during this incident.
"Police have spoken with the car’s owner who will be arranging recovery for the vehicle."
