A POLICE PROBE has been launched after a boy suffered life-changing injuries when he fell from a multi-storey car park in Southampton.

A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life in a critical condition after falling from West Park Road car park on Monday night. 

He was rushed to the major trauma unit at University Hospital Southampton where he remains.

According to police, the incident is not currently being treated as suspicious.

However, enquiries are ongoing as to the exact circumstances of what happened. 

The car park was taped off at around 6.45pm on Monday with witnesses reporting a large police presence in the area.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: "We received multiple 999 calls around 6.45pm yesterday evening all reporting that a person had been seen falling from the top of the West Park Road Car Park.

"We sent two ambulances, two rapid response vehicles and an incident commander to the scene.

"The patient was a 14-year-old boy who had sustained multiple, life-threatening injuries and following initial treatment at the scene, they were then taken to the major trauma unit at University Hospital Southampton."
