TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after police carried out a routine stop and search operation.
Officers say they saw a silver-coloured Mercedes drive straight over a junction.
The vehicle was stopped as it turned into Friars Road from Chestnut Avenue at around 11.20am on Sunday.
A police spokesperson said: "Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, a quantity of suspected Class A drugs and a quantity of cash were located and seized as a result.
A quantity of Class B drugs and other drug-related paraphernalia were located following a further search of a property in Shinewell Gardens, Millbrook yesterday evening.
"A 64-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug.
"A 26-year-old man from Eastleigh was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and possession of a Class A drug.
"Both men have been released under investigation."
