AN ISLAMIC education centre in Southampton has thanked donators as it aims to raise thousands of pounds to build a new facility in the city.
The Al-Hayat Centre took to Twitter to thank Maidenhead Mosque for a donation of £2000 towards the project.
The centre aims to reach a target of £30,000 towards the building of the project on purchased land before the end of the festival of Ramadan on May 12.
The new facility will be used as a youth centre, will provide facilities for women and children as well as being used for daily prayer. The location is the site of former church “The Life Centre” on Dukes Road.
Al-Hayat Centre said they were “extremely grateful” for the support from the mosque in Maidenhead.
Their just giving campaign has currently raised just under £22,000 from 61 donators.
