STOKE City boss Michael O'Neill does not expect Cherries to have their focus on the play-offs when he takes his side to Vitality Stadium tomorrow.

The Potters head to the south coast with little to play for in the final regulation game of the Championship campaign (12.30pm), currently sitting in 14th position.

For Cherries, their season will be extended into the play-offs, with the semi-final first leg due to take place on May 17.

Jonathan Woodgate shuffled his pack last weekend, leaving out a host of first-team regulars for the trip to rock-bottom Wycombe Wanderers.

Cherries were beaten 1-0 at Adams Park, following on from defeat by 10-man Brentford the previous week.

Asked if he feels Cherries will have their eye on the upcoming play-off games when they face Stoke tomorrow, Potters boss O'Neill said: "No, I don't actually because they've lost their last two games. So I think they'll want to finish their season strong with a strong performance and they'll pick a strong team.

"They won't want to go into the play-off games possibly off poor form. So I think they'll approach the game with the intent to win it.

"They'll pick a strong team. They'll obviously not take any chances with players who may be carrying little injuries or niggles, but whatever team they put on the pitch will be very strong.

"They kept their squad together they came down from the Premier League with. Obviously sold Callum Wilson, who was a big departure, but equally they've got a quality squad and they have the motivation to try and get back to the Premier League."

He added: "It will be a very, very tough game. I think it's as tough as you can get in this division to be honest. Away to Bournemouth, Norwich and Watford I would look and say are the three toughest games you're going to get.

"So it will be a test for us, but we're not playing under any pressure and nor are they. But we want a good performance and hopefully a good result."

Stoke are set to be without midfielder Nick Powell, who was withdrawn during their defeat to QPR last week. Meanwhile, both Harry Souttar and Steven Fletcher are considered major doubts having pulled out of training on Thursday due to "stiffness and tightness", with O'Neill "not optimistic" of either featuring at Vitality Stadium.
