A bin liner full of cannabis has been left as a donation at a Fareham charity shop, according to police in the area.
Officers believe the "donation" may have been made accidentally.
The discovery was made by a charity collection worker in a bin at the Marine Parade car park on Lee-on-Solent earlier today (May 7).
The worker than handed the find over to police who have since confirmed that the contents have been "destroyed."
A post on the Facebook page of Fareham Police this evening read: "It's amazing what people will give to charity, but this time, it's a bit much...a bin bag full of cannabis!
"If you have donated this item in the midst of a purple haze, please get in touch as I'd love to talk to you about your generosity! (Although I do have a comical image of a person going to their stash and only to find a bag full of old clothes!)"
Hampshire Constabulary has said there is currently no investigation into the discovery.
