Travellers set up camp on Five Acres, Redbridge Lane, Southampton
A GROUP of Travellers has set up camp on a Southampton recreation ground.
Around 15 caravans have been parked at Lordshill recreation ground - also known as Five Acres.
Police are reportedly dealing with the unauthorised encampment at the site off Redbridge Lane.
Police have reportedly ramped up patrol and are working with the city council.
A post on the Southampton Cops Twitter page said: "Southampton Cops continue to work Southampton City Council today to deal with an unauthorised encampment at 'Five Acres', Redbridge Lane. Increased police patrols will be completed to engage with the local community and monitor the situation."
The Daily Echo is awaiting comment from Southampton City Council.
