A 12 week programme of outdoor events is set to come to a town centre next month.

The Point's popular, Summer Social town centre festival is set to return to Eastleigh for its fourth year this June.

As the theatre reopens following the easing of coronavirus restrictions, staff are putting on a "packed programme" of outdoor events from June 4 until August 28 on the Leigh Road Recreation Ground.

A Garden Stage is being set up on the recreation ground with events from the community taking place including live music and a pop-up bar on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Residents are also being invited to bring along a picnic and listen to live music at the bandstand on Saturdays.

On Sundays, from June 20 until July 25, 10am Yoga will also be taking place on the site.

Louisa Milburn, Business Manager at The Point Eastleigh said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing you our fourth Summer Social and this year we’re making it even longer, with 12 weeks of entertainment planned from early June.

"We can’t wait to make the most of being outside with light evenings, together again, to enjoy a programme of safe and social opportunities”.

The Point’s Café will be open from May 17 with summer classes also getting into full swing and there will also be a new outdoor café bar kiosk open daily.

The venue has been granted the use of Society Of London Theatre & UK Theatre's See It Safely mark and is an approved Visit England We're Good To Go venue.
