BORIS Johnson recognises there is an immediate climate crisis but has not buried his head in the sand.
He has encouraged investment so that people can walk and cycle more or use public transport.
Southampton City Council has co-operated with these policies making it safer and more pleasant to walk and cycle around the city.
Will the new administration coming in continue to make the difficult decisions of the last administration?
Will they continue to work with the government and have a vision of the future?
Will they recognise it takes time to change habits?
Or will they not have the strength, go for the quick fix and scrap all the new bus lanes, cycle lanes and pedestrianised areas, going back to square one and burying their heads in the sand?
