AN appeal has been lodged after plans for a three-bedroom chalet bungalow were turned down.
New Forest District Council refused an application relating to a plot of land at Ringwood Road, Sopley.
A council report said the scheme would have an unacceptable impact on the openness of the green belt.
It added: "It is considered that the supporting information provided by the applicant does not amount to the very special circumstances required in order to justify a departure from green belt policy."
The report said the scheme contravened a planning policy that required new development in the countryside to be keeping with the rural character of the area.
It added that the scheme would lead to an unacceptable increase in pressure on nature conservation sites.
