A SOUTHAMPTON road could stay closed for a month following a hit and run accident.
A Nissan Micra ploughed into the former mill off Woodmill Lane on Tuesday afternoon.
Three "young men" were spotted fleeing from the area, according to police.
However, the route remains closed and the building has suffered substantial damage.
The city council has said that a review of the repairs needed is underway.
Meanwhile, a signed diversion route is in place for motorists.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists can still pass.
The council has set out an initial closure period of one month.
A spokesperson added: "This is subject to change as the relevant teams continue to assess the damage caused and the level of repairs required.”
