STEVE SZELAY insists (Echo, 17 April) that Southampton Airport's runway "extension" is not an "expansion, presumably because the physical size of the airport isn't changing".
Yet they are planning to increase passenger numbers 50%, noise impacts by 100% and CO2 emissions by 40% compared with pre-pandemic levels. And promising a 50% increase in jobs.
Sounds like an expansion to me.
