AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a 15-year-old who was found unresponsive at home by his parents.
Max Thurnell-Read was at his home in Earlswood Park, Ashley, New Milton, on May 4 when his parents went out for a couple of hours. When they returned Max was “found unresponsive in his bedroom”.
The ambulance service was called, and he was taken to Southampton General Hospital where resuscitation attempts were carried out. Max was pronounced dead the same day.
An inquest has been opened into his death at Winchester Coroner’s Court by area coroner Jason Pegg.
A post mortem has been carried out and a preliminary cause of death has been given as asphyxiation.
Mr Pegg adjourned the hearing for a full inquest to take place on February 8, 2022.
