VIOLENT thugs, drug dealers and man branded a danger to women all passed through the courts of Southampton in May.

Here we round up some of the biggest cases this month:

Shotgun and ammo found in Southampton man's room - as his dad was looking for socks

Daniel Terry Hooper hid a sawn-off shotgun in his bedroom wardrobe.

However, when his father went looking for socks in his son’s room he found the gun.

Hooper claimed was pressured into keeping the firearm for a local drug dealer.

He was jailed for five years.

Cannabis 'gardener' caught with plants worth up to £140,000 in Southampton home

Bledar Shatri was caught growing 150 plants at a Southampton home.

Their total value was estimated between £40,000 and £140,000.

The 22-year-old was charged with the production of a class B drug and jailed for 24 months.

Stalker jailed after hurling petrol bombs at Southampton house

Ashley Pankewycz launched three petrol bombs at a property in the city.

He was branded a danger to the public.

He was jailed for six years and nine months, with a further five years on licence.

Stanley knife-wielding man attacked three women in Southampton - and kicked one in the head

Everton Fyffe launched 'unprovoked and violent attacks' on three sex workers.

The 54-year-old beat a woman to the ground, stamped on her and kicked her in the head.

On another occasion he hit one of his victims around the head with his bicycle.

He was jailed for 11 years.

Southampton flasher left dog walkers 'badly frightened' after following them and exposing himself

Robert Oakley exposed himself to two women out walking their dogs.

The 51-year-old followed his victims before pleasuring himself in front of them.

He was jailed for six months having left them both “badly frightened”.

Southampton man bit police officer because handcuffs were 'too tight'

Dawid Varano has a history of attacking emergency workers.

During a recent incident, the 27-year-old bit a police officer after complaining his handcuffs were too tight, a court heard.

The bite broke through the officer's trousers and skin leaving him with a blood blister.

Varano was jailed for ten months.

Man dragged woman into pitch dark park during 'harrowing' attack

Jeremy Blake Simmons banged a woman’s head against metal railings.

He told her had a gun and even threatened to kill her.

He was jailed for a total of 13 years and four months.

Drug dealer caught with 250 xanax tablets

Ryan Beckford was caught carrying 250 Xanax tablets in tubs.

He was spotted by police fighting with another man in Above Bar Street, Southampton.

When officers searched him they found four tubs marked ‘Xanax’, as well as £1,600 in cash.

Man jailed after stabbing teen in convenience store

Leighton Tabone stabbed his victim during an attack n a Co-op store in Thornhill.

He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He was jailed for 18-months at Southampton Crown Court.
