A WOMAN has suffered serious injuries after falling from a block of flats in Southampton.

A woman has been rushed to hospital after falling from Hightown Towers at around 3am this morning.

Police and ambulances were all called to Warburton Road in the Thornhill area of the city.

The woman remains in hospital at this time.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.07am this morning in relation to the concern for welfare of a woman in Southampton.

"The woman had fallen from Hightown Tower, Warburton Road, Southampton.

"She has been taken to hospital where she is being treated for her injuries."

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service added: "We received a 999 call at 2.52a, this morning with the caller reporting that an adult female had been found on the ground outside Hightown Tower, Warburton Road, and she had possibly fallen from height.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle and two ambulances to the scene. The patient had sustained multiple serious injuries and following initial treatment at the scene, she was then taken to University Hospital Southampton."
