SAINTS have launched a new campaign to support grassroots football in Hampshire.
Southampton FC has announced the launch of its free membership scheme, “Grow Your Game” to provide education for coaches, as well as a range of experience events for the counties grassroots teams.
The scheme is open to team coaches whose club is affiliated with Hampshire FA and is aimed at offering them opportunities to engage in several coach education sessions, including live workshops and online webinars.
The campaign is being delivered by the Southampton FC Academy coaching team and is supported by Hampshire FA.
Mark Abrahams, Director of Business and Community Development said: “Southampton has always had a strong reputation for its work in the community and we’re committed to expanding that approach to support grassroots football.
“The national game is built on the strength of the football pyramid and the numbers of young people playing the game.
“Grow Your Game aims to share good practice both on and off the pitch, as well as creating unique experiences and memories for local players.”
Coaches enrolled on the scheme are set to receive a bi-monthly newsletter, aimed at providing an insight into The Southampton Way with access to a range of coaching resources, such as session plans and coaching videos.
As well as this, coaches signed up to the programme will access “unique” opportunities, including special ticket offers to attend both men’s and Women’s first team fixtures and signed Saints merchandise.
There will also be the chance for the Southampton FC academy staff to deliver a coaching session for the coaches team.
Coaches can sign up for the scheme on the Saints website.
