Two motorcyclists have been injured after a crash on a Hampshire motorway.

Two riders have been injured after falling off their motorbike and then hitting a white Skoda on the M27 today.

The man and woman, both in their 50s, had been travelling westbound at around 11.30am near Southampton.

Both were injured, with the woman rushed to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment.

According to police, their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time.

Officers were on the scene earlier today and three lanes of the motorway were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.36am this morning to reports of a collision on the M27 westbound between junctions 4 and 3.

"It was reported that two people had come off a motorbike and collided with a car which involved a Honda Motorcycle and a white Skoda.

"Both motorcyclists (a man and a woman, both in their 50s) reported minor injuries and the woman was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment."

The road reopened by around 1.30pm and an investigation has since been launched.

No arrests have been made at this time.
