BOAVISTA forward Alberth Elis has spoken about his future after being linked with a move to Saints.

According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, both the St Mary’s side and West Ham have had talks about the 25-year-old, who scored eight goals in 31 league games for Boavista last season.

Elis, who played on both wings as well as mainly through the middle in the Portuguese top flight last campaign, has 46 caps and 11 goals for Honduras at senior level.

He has also previously played in the MLS for Houston Dynamo, scoring 35 goals and registering 28 assists for the club in all competitions.

A Bola claim Watford and Brighton had previously been following the 25-year-old, and believe Boavista would want around 10million Euros for the forward.

And in translated quotes reported by Mais Futebol, Elis insists his future is likely to lie elsewhere from his current club.

He said: “I finished the season well at Boavista, that's why there are teams interested in me.

“At the right time it will be official and everyone will know.

"We want it to be something good, my goal is to continue to evolve and look for bigger teams, I never hid it.

“I like the English league. For now, these are just rumours, when there is something concrete it will soon be gone.

“If I have the opportunity to go to England I'll take it, but for now there's nothing.”
