A Hampshire based charity to has plans to begin working with young people through youth clubs.

Local charity, Youth Options, have won the opportunity to partner with Totton and Eling Town Council to deliver much needed youth work from the Garage Youth Centre in Totton.

Starting on 1st September, Youth Options will be offering open access youth work to support children and young people in the local community from the Garage Youth Centre.

Drawing on their success in other areas of the county, Youth Options will support young people to address the issues they are facing, reduce instances of anti-social behaviour, and work towards creating happier, safer communities. Their aim is to provide a safe environment where young people have access to informal learning opportunities, as well as information and guidance around a whole range of issues meaning that they are better informed about life choices and the opportunities that are available to them.

Debbie Burns, Deputy CEO at Youth Options said: ‘We are delighted to have been selected by Totton & Eling Town Council to deliver youth services from The Garage Youth Centre. The staff at The Garage are dedicated and committed and we can’t wait to have them join the Youth Options team. We look forward to providing a range of high-quality services that meet the needs of children and young people in the local area.’

Arthur Davis the chairman of Totton & Eling Town council`s Amenities committee said: "On behalf of the Town Council I would like to say we are very much looking foreword to entering into a new partnership with Youth Options to enable the continuation of the award winning youth service at the Garage Youth Centre. Our thanks go out to the existing staff team at the Garage who will be transferring to Youth Options to allow seamless continuation of the youth service from 1st September 2021."
