SAINTS youngster Jake Vokins’s loan spell at Ross County has gotten off to a turbulent start after the club confirmed a coronavirus outbreak.
Malky Mackay’s side’s pre-season preparations have come to a halt with several players and coaching staff at the Dingwall club having tested positive for the virus.
Ross County are due to start their season with a Premier Sports Cup group-stage clash against Forfar on Saturday.
A statement on the Staggies’ official website read: “A number of Ross County players and coaching staff have tested positive for Covid-19.
“As a precaution the club has temporarily suspended football operations to prevent any further spread of the virus.”
Full-back Vokins only completed his move to the Scottish Premiership outfit on Friday – signing for Ross County on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old endured a difficult time having tested positive for the virus last season, while on loan at Sunderland.
