SERIE A outfit Cagliari are the latest side to be linked with Saints midfielder Mario Lemina, according to reports in Italy.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims Cagliari are interested in Gabon international Lemina, with manager Leonardo Semplici reportedly looking to strengthen his midfield.

Lemina, who turns 28 in September, signed a five-year deal at St Mary’s when he arrived from Juventus for £18.1million in 2017.

He has played 52 times for Saints in all competitions but has also spent time on loan at Galatasaray and Fulham.

The Daily Mail last month claimed Saints were looking for around £4million for the former Marseille man, who has also been linked with a move to Newcastle United.

Cagliari finished 16th in the Italian top flight last season.
