A TOWN school has benefitted from a large donation to help buy resources for its Science Department.

In February 2020, Novacyt was one of the first companies to manufacture a CE-marked COVID-19 laboratory test.

Now, as a consequence of its "significant and ongoing" success with Crestwood Community School in Eastleigh on its ever-growing range of lab tests, Novacyt set up a Novacyt Charity Steering Committee to make significant donations to both charities and schools.

The donations will be made throughout 2021 and are aimed at "giving back to those in need during this challenging time".

All employees were invited to nominate a school of their choice and some of the items purchased include a brand new ripple tank, an air track, numerous models of plants and cells, and a large collection of textbooks for classroom use.

The current Head of Science, Kevin Neil was delighted with the donation and said: "We are incredibly thankful to Novacyt for this generous donation. With the money, we have invested in a wide range of resources that will benefit the students here at Crestwood for years to come."
