THREE men have been arrested following a brawl that left a man with serious facial injuries after England crashed out of the Euros 2020.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a serious incident outside Popworld at 11.30pm.

It was reported that a large group of people were fighting in Lower Banister Street last night following England's defeat to Italy.

A man in his 30’s was hit in the face with a glass. He sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A woman in her 20’s was also assaulted during the incident. She sustained minor injuries to her chest and arm.

Three men were arrested following the incident.

A 20-year-old man from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent; a 20-year-old man from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing actual bodily harm; and an 18-year-old man from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Now, police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

A spokesperson from the Force said: "Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recorded it on their phone as this may help with our enquiries.
