TWO SOUTHAMPTON men have been charged with firearms and drugs offences following a stop search in a city estate.

A grey Mercedes was pulled over in Laburnum Road and two men inside were searched by police on July 5.

One of the men grabbed a carrier bag from the car and tried to flee the scene but was stopped by officers nearby.

The bag contained a gun, ammunition and cocaine worth around £20,000, according to police.

The two men were then arrested and taken into custody.

Kiran Porter, 24, from Honeysuckle Road, was charged with two counts of possessing a handgun, two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Patryk Jesiolowski, 24, from Harefield Road, was charged with two counts of possessing a handgun, possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of cocaine.

Both appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on July 8 where they were both further remanded in custody.

They are next due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on August 6.
