A HUNT has been launched to find a hit and run driver who left a motorcyclist with a broken hand and bruised liver.

Police have issued an appeal to locate the driver of a dark blue Volkswagen Passat, who was involved in a crash with a blue Honda CB600 motorcycle at the Shell Petrol Station in Burgess Road between 8.55pm and 9.05pm.

The car driver initially stopped before leaving the scene without exchanging details with the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man, suffered significant external bruising, a bruised liver and a broken left hand.

Police have released an image of the man they would like to speak.

The driver of the car is described as white, male, in his 50s or 60s with grey hair and was wearing a hi-vis jacket.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We believe this man in the photograph may have important information to aid us in our enquiries and urge him to contact us.
