BEACHGOERS have been advised to consider where they are parking after one car was found to be obstructing the road.
Yesterday, police patrolling the beaches across the Waterside area came across a car causing an "unnecessary obstruction" on Lepe Road.
The car was parked on double yellow lines, forcing vehicles into oncoming traffic on a blind bend.
Now the driver has been issued a fixed penalty notice and officers are advising beachgoers to consider where they park.
A police spokesperson said: "Unfortunately one person's trip to the beach has been soured with a fixed penalty notice for causing an unnecessary obstruction to the highway; parking on double yellows forcing vehicles into oncoming traffic on a blind bend.
"Please ensure you use the car parks / permitted parking provided at both beaches, or if you live local why not cycle down whilst the weather is nice."
