AN APPEAL has been launched after an underweight dog, who has recently has puppies, was dumped from a car in a Hampshire village.

The brown terrier type dog - who has been named Tina by those who rescued her - was abandoned on July 14 after being dumped from the car on Sheep Pond Lane in Corhampton at around 9.30am.

RSPCA Inspector Jo Story is now keen to trace who is responsible and is appealing for information particularly in relation to a silver BMW 3 series.

Daily Echo:

She said: “Two witnesses saw Tina being dumped from a car and very kindly took her to a local vets where she was found to be emaciated and overbred. She is very nervous but has shown no signs of aggression and is a sweet natured girl.

“A check on the car’s registration plate - a silver BMW 3 series - shows that it is not registered. One of the witnesses did speak to the driver briefly and described him as being white, tall, slim and speaking with a posh accent.

“I would like to find out who this man is and hope someone recognises Tina or the description of the man and vehicle.

"It is such a heartless thing to do especially as Tina is not in the best of health and it is thought the latest birth must have taken place fairly recently and she should still be with the puppies who will still depend on her at such a young age."

Tina has received emergency treatment and will remain in the care of The Stubbington Ark Animal Shelter with the team from the RSPCA’s Solent branch until she is ready to be rehomed once fully rehabilitated.
