AN inquest has been opened into the death of an elderly woman from Chandler’s Ford who fell at home.
Joan Elizabeth Mabbett, 92, of Hursley Road, Chandler’s Ford, was taken to hospital after the incident on July 6. She was discharged on July 16, the inquest in Winchester was told.
But her condition deteriorated and she was seen by an out of hours doctor who diagnosed a urinary tract infection. She died at home on Monday July 19.
The hearing was told that Dr Julia Terry said the cause of death were that infection, a fractured elbow and frailty of old age.
Area coroner Jason Pegg adjourned the inquest until March 9 2022.
