A DRINK driver who failed to stop for police has been banned from the roads.
Ryan McIlwraith failed to stop for police on Bottom Road, Dibden on June 27, while driving a Ford Focus ST.
The 24-year-old was found to 61 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving and one count of failing to stop for police.
McIlwraith, of Beech Crescent, Hythe, was disqualified from driving for 17 months and was fined £1,000.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100 and court costs of £85.
