A VIDEOGRAPHER has ensured the show could go on for leavers at a Southampton school.

Traditionally, youngsters leaving Hollybrook Junior School perform an end of year show watched by family members.

But this year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, family were not able to attend the event.

Thanks to the work of Annelies James-Ryan and Tim Ryan though, parents got to see their children perform after the pair filmed the show and created a video.

Annelies, who works for Fareham marketing agency, 22midnight, said: "Myself and Tim Ryan were thrilled to be able to support this giveback project and enable parents and carers the opportunity to share in the joy of their children in such a strange time.

“While we usually make videos and digital content for larger corporate clients, this definitely allowed us to flex some creative muscle and think a little differently. The production was of amazing quality and a real testament to the staff who coordinated the show. “

As well as the video, parents also received a goody bag, donated by Sainsburys.

Teacher Annette Norton from Hollybrook Junior School said: “We were impressed by their professionalism, and expertise and were delighted with the final result.

“All the Year 6 pupils and staff would like to thank Annelies and Tim for their time and for giving parents the opportunity to see their children's hard work pay off.”

Annelies added: “ The students were really talented, there are definitely some up and coming West End stars of the future in Hollybrook Junior School.

“As a qualified teacher, previously having taught before starting my own business, this did give me some nostalgia for the profession.

“All in all, I was privileged to give time and energy to make this show accessible and to be a part of the student's success.”
