PLANS to transform a Southampton industrial unit have been thrown out.
Plans were tabled to convert a storage unit at 51 Westridge Road into two studio flats.
However, the proposal made to the city council has recently been refused.
The site had previously been used to store catering supplies until 2018.
According to documents submitted to the council, there is a high demand for small units in the area close to transport routes.
The application made by Ali Khan, of Willis Road, Southampton, was refused because "insufficient evidence was provided to demonstrate that the existing lawful use of the building falls within the use of storage or distribution".
