A MANAGER has been jailed for two years after stealing £43,000 from one of Hampshire's biggest supermarkets.
Simon Rumsby took the money from Sainsbury's giant Hedge End store over the course of a year until he was found out by an internal audit.
He credited refunds to his bank card 45 times and helped himself to cash from the till on eight separate occasions, a court heard.
Rumsby used the money to pay off a £15,000 student loan, put down deposits on a car and a flat, make repayments on the car loan, buy expensive electrical items and go on a trip to Disneyland Paris.
Judge Jeremy Burford described it as a serious breach of trust.
