MOTORISTS are facing weeks of traffic misery from today when one of Hampshire's busiest routes is shut.
From 9am engineers are to close Romsey Road in Winchester for water works for up to ten weeks.
The route will be shut near Clifton Terrace and diversions will be put in place.
The work is expected to cause roads chaos across the city.
It is one of the region's busiest routes and serves Winchester Prison, The Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Kings School.
