REHEARSALS are in full swing for Mayflower Theatre’s Summer Youth Production - the feel-good stage musical Summer Holiday based on the iconic 60s Cliff Richard film.

The show includes 113 talented youngsters with a two-week rehearsal period followed by three performances on the Mayflower Theatre stage on Friday and Saturday August 27 and 28.

Michael Ockwell, Mayflower Theatre Chief Executive and director of the show said: “I am delighted that we are able to produce a project this year considering the uncertainty of the past 16 months. It is wonderful to have young people back in the theatre and creating such a joyous production.

"Our Summer Youth Project is about providing a great opportunity for young people to perform on our stage but also to learn important life skills; to generate confidence and camaraderie and to appreciate that every single person plays a crucial role when presenting a musical of this scale. I am immensely grateful for the production team for their hard work, for the young people who have shown such commitment and passion for the show. As so many of us can’t get away this year we hope audiences will enjoy spending their Summer Holiday with us.”
