NOW THIS really impressed me: at last year's Labor Day telethon, hosted by Jerry Lewis in Las Vegas, Harley-Davidson presented a cheque for 5.1 million dollars to their chosen charity, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
That money had been raised in the States by HOG (that's the Harley Owners Group), H-D riders, H-D dealerships and employees throughout 2007 and brought the amount raised since fundraising started in 1980 to over 65 million dollars.
Harley need no introduction but for those unsure who Jerry Lewis is, he rose to fame as the crooning funny man to Dean Martin's lead as straight man in many films as well as starring in his own films such as the original nutty professor'.
He was also an exponent of pistol fast draw (using blank cartridges) when the cowboy sport was all the rage.
Congratulations to H-D and everyone involved in achieving that enviable donation to charity.
