EASTLEIGH College stepped up its commitment to students and employers and developed new collaborative initiatives in response to the Covid pandemic. 

Paul Cox, Chief Executive at Eastleigh College said the collaborative efforts have had positive impacts for Hampshire businesses and the region’s post-16 education sector:  

  • More than 900 employers since July 2020 have trained their employees to the college or offered work experience to its learners. 
  • Working with partners in the post-16 sector, the college has collectively progressed plans for the Solent Institute of Technology, and successfully secured Strategic Development Funds for a number of pilot projects linked to the ambitions of the Skills for Jobs white paper. 
  • In partnership with Solent University, the college is in the process of launching sector specific guides for employers to support them meet their skills and succession planning needs.
