A HAMPSHIRE woman found dead on a motorway died just a fortnight after her twin daughters were born.

The body of Heather Finkill, 30, from Farnborough, was discovered on the M3 near junction 4a earlier this month.

She gave birth to the twin girls on December 19.

In a statement, the family said: "The loss of our beautiful Heather has devastated our family. No words can describe how we are feeling. We are numb with pure grief.

"Heather was a devoted wife and soul mate to her husband Ryan. She leaves behind her twin two-week-old baby girls.

"Heather was a kind and giving person who was loved so much by her family and many friends.

"How she came to die will be something that we may never come to terms with. We all ask why, but that is a question we cannot answer."

Police are still investigating the circumstances behind Heather's death.

A member of the public spotted her body shortly before 7am on Wednesday, January 2. The motorway was then closed for eight hours while officers carried out their investigation.

Police are still hoping that anyone who may have seen Heather - who was wearing pink pyjama-style trousers, a blue hooded top and white trainers - before her death can help them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Paul Plews at the Farnborough Roads Policing Unit on 0845 045 4545.
