A WOMAN was injured after being struck by an object during a disturbance near the Lamb Inn pub.

Police officers were called at 6.58pm on Saturday, September 4 to reports of a two vehicle collision in Bockhampton Lane, Winkton on the Dorset/Hampshire border.

The collision had taken place near to the pub and involved a Volkswagen Passat that had overturned and an unknown vehicle.

It was reported that shortly after this incident a disturbance occurred involving the occupants of the Passat and the second vehicle.

A female member of public, who was not connected with the collision, sustained injuries to her leg after being struck by an object during the incident.

According to police, there is no evidence at this stage to suggest that a catapult or any other weapon was used.

Two men aged 18 and 45 and from Totton were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
