FIREFIGHTERS have rushed to battle a blaze on a Hampshire beach.
Crews from Hightown, St Marys and Eastleigh attended the incident at Hamble beach at 1.22pm today.
The fire is said to have involved 30 square metres of gorse and shrubland.
This came after a campfire was set up on the beach near Coach Road, Hamble-le-Rice.
One hosereel jet, one light portable pump and one 45mm jet were used to extinguish the blaze.
A Land Rover and water carrier vehicles were also required to stop the fire.
Crews stepped down and returned to their stations just after 2.30pm.
