A SOUTHAMPTON man must pay more than £300 after getting caught tearing down a Welsh motorway.

Tomasz Terebus sped down the M4 near Newport at 62mph.

The 43-year-old was driving a Mercedes Sprinter through a restricted 50mph zone.

Gwent Magistrates' Court proved him guilty of the offence which happened on February 9 under the single justice procedure.

Terebus, of Mansfield Park Road, was fined £220.

He has been ordered to pay £90 in court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

His licence has been stamped with three points.
