TWO motorists have been issued with tickets after parking on yellow lines outside a city fire station.
Yesterday evening, police spotted two vehicles parked on zig zag yellow lines outside St Mary's Fire Station, Southampton.
The first vehicle, a blue Land Rover parked outside the station, followed by a blue Volkswagen which pulled up.
It is said that the driver was dropping off a friend but in doing so, had blocked the doors at the exit of the station.
A police spokesperson said: "'I'm just dropping him off' will also not work! Ticket issued to both."

This comes after multiple other incidents of this kind took place at the same station recently.
Just weeks ago, station manager Nev Lewendon, told the Echo: "The issue of motorists blocking the paths of emergency services vehicles is worse than ever before."
Following the recent incidents, a spokesperson for the fire station wrote on social media: "Thank you @HantsPolRoads It's very much appreciated. Unfortunately it's an all too familiar occurrence. Every day. Pensive face Shopping and take-aways are far more important apparently! Man shrugging Stay safe."
